The System Engineer applies systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement. You will interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts. You will communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives. You will be responsible for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with your assigned project.
Job Responsibility:
Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of a work product in various technical product areas
Applies systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement
Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts
Communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives
Responsible for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with assigned project
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus one (1) year of systems engineering experience
Twelve (12) credit hours of college coursework in one (1) or more of the ISO/IEC 15288 Technical Process Areas may be substituted for the required one (1) year of systems engineering experience
A High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of general system engineering experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree
Experience with coding Python and Visual Basic for applications
Strong experience in applying RF theoretical and academic knowledge in EMI testing unintended emissions within HF, VHF, and UHF spectrum
Familiar with RF tools (network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes) and components (amplifiers, filters, isolators, attenuators, terminators, etc)
Formulating and documenting test plans
Draft and issue technical recommendations through formal test reports
Specify and/or review system and component technical performance requirements to ensure optimal functionality while meeting E3 noise electric field limit
Collaborate internal and external agency stakeholders to ensure technical support enables the E3 Program and customer mission requirements
Must be able to travel 3 times per year for 7-10 days at a time
Position requires active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph
Nice to have:
Preferred but not required to have experience in electromagnetic compatibility testing, electromagnetic interference mitigation, and /or antenna calibration
