The System Development Lead is a key role within the Systems Engineering team at BorgWarner India Propulsion Engineering Centre (IPEC). This position plays a critical part in end-to-end development of advanced automotive electrification products, acting as a bridge between project management, global engineering teams, and customers. This is an exciting opportunity to lead complex system development initiatives across the full V-development lifecycle while influencing cutting-edge technologies such as inverters, e-Drives, onboard chargers, and electronic controllers. Job Responsibility
Lead system development of automotive electrification products such as inverters, e-Drive systems, onboard chargers, and electronic controllers
Drive system development activities across all phases of the V-development lifecycle, from stakeholder requirements to production handover
Plan and manage system development by tailoring established processes to project-specific needs and priorities
Define and execute system release plans, including scope, deliverables, and work product mapping to stakeholder requirements
Lead and coordinate cross-functional and multi-site global teams, ensuring adherence to project schedules and resource forecasts
Share accountability for issue resolution related to system releases and customer-reported concerns using structured problem-solving techniques
Coach and mentor HW, SW, and Systems engineering teams
Support customer-facing technical discussions, issue resolution, and engineering status reporting
Requirements
Minimum 10 years of experience in automotive system design and development
Strong understanding of Systems Engineering principles and V-Model development methodology
Experience working in ASPICE-based (or similar) process-driven environments
Hands-on experience with system development aligned to industry standards such as ISO 26262, ISO 21434, and ASPICE
Familiarity with project planning and task management tools such as MS Project, Jira, IBM Rational RTC, or Polarion
Proven technical leadership experience in new product development and product launches
Exposure to Agile, CMM, SPICE, ISO/TS 16949 methodologies
Ability to comprehend microcontroller-based hardware and associated schematics
Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills
