Job Description

System Design Authority (SDA) role within the Submarine Systems division, instrumental in driving delivery excellence and shaping future business growth. Involves technical leadership and systems engineering, driving development from conceptualization to customer acceptance, and retaining technical ownership throughout operational life.

Job Responsibility

  • Collaborate with Product Managers to promote capabilities and engage with customers and stakeholders to secure future business
  • Analyze requirements, develop solution concepts, and translate them into high-level architectural designs and system specifications
  • Prepare technical proposals and support Bid Managers in responding to invitations to tender and requests for quotations
  • Take on technical management of allocated initiatives, overseeing all aspects of systems engineering management
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineering, Production, other business functions, and external suppliers
  • Ensure timely delivery of products and services in line with project plans and performance targets
  • Engage with other Divisions to align customer and self-funded research with product development
  • Identify and roadmap key enabling technologies
  • Contribute to standardization initiative
  • Own the long-term plan for product development and updates

Requirements

  • Systems thinking mindset
  • Understanding of broader operational context of customer requirements and user needs
  • Previous experience in product lifecycles, systems design, system modeling, analysis, requirements management, testing, acceptance, production, or support
  • Technical expertise in one or more of: Sonar/seismic arrays

  • You will create detailed security designs for business customers, turning high level plans into practical solutions that meet the customer’s needs and work with their network setup.
  • You will plan and deliver firewall and network access solutions that meet customer needs, including moving existing systems and testing them to make sure everything works properly.
  • You will carry out hands-on work to prepare, set up, and install new network equipment when needed and attend site visits and installations where necessary.
  • You will act as the technical expert during delivery after a sale, leading customer design sessions to understand their needs and ensure the best solution is designed and integrated to maximise the value of Vodafone products for their business.
