Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a System Administrator 1 to support the implementation, maintenance, and day-to-day operations of IT systems across enterprise environments. This role focuses on mission operations sustainment, including system monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining operational stability across Linux-based environments. The ideal candidate will provide hands-on support for infrastructure, assist with performance monitoring, and help resolve issues in a dynamic environment.
Job Responsibility
Provide implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for IT systems
Perform Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution
Monitor system performance and ensure reliability across servers, storage, and network devices
Configure and maintain Linux-based operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, SLES, Ubuntu)
Support OS installation, file systems, TCP/IP networking, and software deployment
Assist with troubleshooting system and application issues using Bash scripting and standard tools
Support system monitoring and alerting using tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, and Grafana
Work with configuration management and automation tools (e.g., Salt, Ansible)
Collaborate using tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Git-based repositories
Support performance tuning and capacity planning
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (5 additional years of experience may substitute)
Minimum 3 years of experience as a System Administrator in similar environments
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (or equivalent)
Experience with Linux system administration, including OS installation, networking, and troubleshooting
Familiarity with monitoring, automation, and scripting tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, Ansible, Bash)
U.S. Citizenship is required
Active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph
Successful completion of a security background investigation and polygraph
