Job Description:

Our swimmers are diving into great lessons and our employees are diving into great opportunities! We're now hiring year-round, part-time instructors with leadership opportunities available within your first 3-6 months. Yes, you can grow with Goldfish even if this is your after school or second job to help your future career!

Job Responsibility:

  • Instruct students on water safety and proper swim techniques based on thorough knowledge of the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
  • Communicate progress with parents and caregivers after each 30 minute lesson
  • Provide swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
  • Educate students on safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents
  • Evaluate students' progress, and complete required paperwork in a timely manner
  • Interact with parents/guardians on the activities and development of students' swim skills
  • Use problem-solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter
  • Maintain and ensure proper storage of all pool equipment
  • Place and remove lane lines and class materials before/after lessons
  • Perform light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, trash removal etc. on occasion
  • Attend occasional mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours
  • Fulfill other duties or responsibilities as assigned by your employer

Requirements:

  • Ability to work with children
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to complete lifeguard, CPR & AED certification class as part of training and work scheduled shifts as a lifeguard
  • Ability to perform job functions in a warm, humid setting and chlorinated pool (lifting, standing for extended periods of time, demonstrating curriculum skills and performing in-water rescues if necessary).
