Job Description:

Our swimmers are not only diving into great lessons, our employees are also diving into great opportunities! At Goldfish Swim School, we care about providing top-notch swim lessons and making every moment Golden. We offer part-time hours, a set weekly schedule and a growth track in place to build your leadership skills and achievements. You can grow with Goldfish even if this is your after school or second job. As employers, we recognize that our team members are the most important people in our building since you are the ones who show our families why they should choose Goldfish Swim School for their children.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensuring the success of swim lessons
  • Preparing class materials and reviewing lesson themes
  • Teaching 4 swimmers per class (6 in infant/parent-and-me lessons) through a curriculum of water safety, swim and swimplay skills
  • Teaching 30-minute lessons consecutively for a 4-hour shift
  • Communicating progress and celebrating accomplishments with parents and caregivers
  • Lifeguarding and supervising lessons as requested or needed
  • Guiding new swimmers through their first days and supporting their progress

Requirements:

  • Ability to swim
  • Passion for helping others
  • Customer service skills
  • Fin-tastic personality
  • Patience & genuine nature
  • Ability to work the same scheduled days every week
  • Availability for set groups of swim lessons (4:00-8:00 Monday through Friday, 8:30-3:00pm on Saturday, 8:30-3:00pm on Sunday)
  • Ability to arrive 15 minutes before swim lessons start
  • Ability to do quality work and represent the school's mission
  • Treating people with integrity, compassion and trust

Nice to have:

  • Experience as a swim instructor
  • Experience as a lifeguard
  • Experience as a Child Care Worker, Camp Counselor, Babysitter or Nanny
  • Experience in Elementary Education or as a Teachers Aide
  • Experience as a Pool Operator or Swimmer
  • Experience as a Coach or Fitness Instructor
  • Experience as a Stay-at-Home Parent
  • Experience as a Server
  • Experience as a Part-time nurse
