Job Description:

At Goldfish Swim School, we care about providing top-notch swim lessons and making every moment Golden. We offer part-time hours, a set weekly schedule and a growth track in place to build your skills and achievements. You can grow with Goldfish even if this is your after school or second job. Our swimmers are not only diving into great lessons, our employees are also diving into great opportunities!

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensuring you and your team are set up for success at every lesson by preparing class materials and reviewing lesson themes
  • Teaching 4 swimmers per class (6 swimmers in infant parent-and-me style lessons) using a well-established curriculum of water safety, swim and swimplay skills
  • Communicating progress and celebrating accomplishments with parents and caregivers at end of class
  • Lifeguarding and supervising lessons as requested or needed
  • Guiding new swimmers through their first days and supporting them as they progress

Requirements:

  • Must know how to swim
  • Must have a passion for helping others and a fin-tastic personality
  • Must be patient & genuine
  • Must have communication skills to work with children, parents and team members
  • Ability to do quality work and represent Goldfish Swim School's mission
  • Doing the right things, making the right decisions and treating people with integrity, compassion and trust
  • Availability for set groups of lessons
  • Ability to work the same part-time scheduled days every week
  • Ability to arrive 10 minutes before swim lessons start
  • Prior experience as swim instructor/lifeguard or working with kids (optional)
  • Live in NJ or upstate NY
