Job Description:

Ensures quality in imaging, patient care and work flow. Monitors patient documentation for timely completion and accuracy. Oversees quality control testing, equipment maintenance and trouble shooting. Serves as a resource to department staff as well as other members of the team as needed. Performs staff orientation, training, and coaching. Provides input to staff performance evaluations. Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately. Ensures all activities comply with regulatory agency standards. Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history). Assists in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.

  • Assures that the MRI team are meeting these goals by listening to their deliveries and coaching
  • Understands all computer/software applications that are required to perform day, evening, and night work flow tasks
  • Available to assist in other departments when needed or assigned
  • Recognizes others department needs and is always willing to assist
  • Complete working knowledge of workstation and post processing functionality for all applications
  • Oversees all MR Technologists postprocessing skills
  • Enforces monthly QA process
  • Understands Lawson Requisitions and utilizes Outlook calendar
  • Monitors usage and replacement of supplies
  • Understands the supplies budget and works within that framework
  • Meets with vendors
  • Understands the evolution of business, technologies, and processes
  • Continues to monitor, maintain, consistent patient flow
  • Understands both Hospital and Pavilion workflow
  • Keeps a presence at both the Pavilion and the Hospital
  • Verifies orders in the patient chart/EMR
  • Follows the MRI safety policy
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited Radiology program
  • 1 or more years of MRI experience with an understanding of complex exams, protocol manipulation, and current MRI safety measures
  • CPR/ AED/ BLS - Other BLS within 14 days
  • Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (will be required to obtain MRI credentials withing 1.5 years) OR Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) if not ARRT (R)
