Our client, a media and entertainment company in NYC, is looking for an SVP, Marketing and Communications for a senior, hands-on leadership position. This role will be responsible for shaping and executing integrated marketing and communications strategies that fuel audience growth, increase membership, expand media visibility, and drive sustainable revenue. With deep experience in media and entertainment, this executive will oversee brand, marketing, communications, and audience development efforts that directly support ticket sales, sponsorships, partnerships, and earned revenue. This role requires a strategic yet highly operational leader who can translate vision into execution, inspire high-performing teams, and confidently represent the organization with senior stakeholders, partners, and C-suite executives.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop and lead integrated marketing and communications strategies that drive membership growth, audience engagement, media coverage, demand generation, and revenue performance
  • Oversee brand strategy, positioning, and messaging to ensure a cohesive and compelling voice across all channels, platforms, and touchpoints
  • Lead earned, owned, and paid media strategies, including press relations, social media, content, digital marketing, and campaigns tied to ticket sales and revenue initiatives
  • Drive audience development strategies that increase awareness, conversion, loyalty, and lifetime value across consumer, member, and fan segments
  • Partner closely with revenue, programming, partnerships, and development teams to support ticket sales, sponsorships, and fundraising goals
  • Serve as a senior spokesperson and strategic advisor, presenting confidently to internal leadership, board members, partners, and C-suite executives
  • Manage, mentor, and inspire a high-performing marketing and communications team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth
  • Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks to measure impact, optimize performance, and inform strategic decision-making
  • Oversee agency and vendor relationships, ensuring excellence in execution, efficiency, and return on investment
  • Stay deeply informed on media, entertainment, and pop-culture trends to ensure relevance, innovation, and competitive advantage

Requirements:

  • 20+ years of progressive leadership experience in marketing and communications within media, entertainment, or closely related sectors
  • Proven track record of driving audience growth, media coverage, ticket sales, sponsorships, and revenue through integrated marketing strategies
  • Demonstrated success leading, scaling, and motivating high-performing teams
  • Deep expertise across brand strategy, PR, social media, digital marketing, content, and audience development
  • Strong business acumen with experience aligning marketing and communications efforts to revenue and organizational objectives
  • Exceptional executive presence with the ability to influence, present to, and partner with senior leaders and C-suite executives
  • Hands-on leadership style with the ability to balance strategic vision and day-to-day execution
