We are looking for an experienced legal executive to serve as SVP, General Counsel with offices in Huntsville, AL, but can sit anywhere. This leader will guide the company’s legal strategy, advise senior leadership on complex business matters, and help protect the organization’s interests across commercial, corporate, and transactional activities. The role requires a pragmatic partner who can balance legal risk with business objectives while supporting governance and long-term growth.
Job Responsibility
Lead the company’s legal function and provide strategic counsel to executive leadership on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of business agreements to support operations while safeguarding the organization’s legal and financial interests
Advise on corporate law matters, including entity structure, governance obligations, and compliance with applicable legal requirements
Support mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions by overseeing legal due diligence, structuring considerations, and transaction documentation
Partner with internal stakeholders to evaluate risk, resolve contract-related issues, and develop practical legal solutions aligned with business goals
Oversee corporate governance activities, including board-related matters, policies, and documentation needed to maintain strong legal oversight
Manage outside counsel and other legal resources to ensure efficient, high-quality support across specialized legal issues
Requirements
Significant senior-level experience serving as a General Counsel or in a comparable leadership role within a corporate legal environment
Deep knowledge of commercial contracting, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex agreements
Strong background in corporate law with the ability to advise on governance, compliance, and organizational matters
Demonstrated experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and transaction execution
Proven ability to lead contract negotiations and deliver sound legal guidance in a fast-paced business setting
Excellent judgment, executive presence, and communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
Juris Doctor degree and active bar membership in good standing, or the ability to meet role-specific legal practice requirements
