Job Description

The Sustainable IT ESG Analyst - IT ESG Metrics & Reporting is responsible for providing robust ESG analysis, governance, and assurance over IT Operations and digital services ESG metrics (Sustainable IT) within a large, complex global IT environment. The role partners with IT, procurement, finance, and sustainability teams to measure and reduce the environmental and social impacts of the technology estate, while supporting compliance with ESG reporting requirements with accurate, well-governed, decision-useful metrics. The role will focus on carbon, energy, infrastructure efficiency, circularity, software sustainability, and wider Sustainable IT ESG KPIs, embedding strong controls, data quality standards, and governance frameworks across the technology estate.

Job Responsibility

  • Sustainable IT ESG Analysis and insights to produce actionable insights for Global IT and provide IT-specific data and commentary for internal sustainability reports, including IT’s contribution to climate and circularity targets
  • ESG Governance, Controls and Assurance by establish and maintain data quality controls over ESG data from various systems
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, regulators, and other organizations
  • Monitor sustainability performance and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
  • Serve as Project Manager or Subject Matter advisor during Sustainability Services client engagements and direct teams to deliver high quality results
  • Perform Sustainable IT data management by collecting IT-related ESG data, including data center and cloud energy use, device inventories, hardware refresh cycles, and software/service usage and maintain a centralized dataset of IT assets and services with sustainability attributes (e.g., energy efficiency, EPEAT/TCO labels, take-back options, cloud region carbon intensity)

Requirements

  • Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Technology, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Professional qualifications or training in ESG, sustainability, or climate reporting (e.g. GHG Protocol, CFA ESG, IEMA) desirable
  • Strong background & understanding of environmental regulations, compliance & safety regulations
  • and the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) business
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in Sustainable IT

Nice to have

  • Proven experience in ESG analysis, sustainability reporting, or non-financial risk, ideally within a technology-led or IT-intensive organisation
  • Strong understanding of GHG accounting with specific exposure to IT-related emissions (cloud, data centres, hardware, software)
  • Experience designing or operating data governance and control frameworks
  • Ability to work with complex data sets and translate them into clear, decision-ready insights
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proficiency in Excel and BI tools, plus comfort working with IT data sources such as ServiceNow (CMDB, ITAM) and Watershed
