Are you concerned by transport’s climate impact and Europe’s dangerous reliance on fossil fuels? As volatile energy prices and Middle East conflicts expose the fragility of our supply chains, the shift to resilient, clean energy has never been more urgent. Transport & Environment (T&E) - the organization that exposed Dieselgate, secured the EU’s world-leading CO2 standards, and campaigned successfully to end dirty palm oil biofuels - is looking for a talented and dynamic analyst to help drive this transition. Amid the challenges of decarbonising transport and reducing exposure to geopolitical shocks, this role is central to providing the analytical evidence needed to assess fuel pathways, including biofuels, hydrogen-based fuels, and electrification. The position entails quantifying environmental risks within complex supply chains and modelling the impacts of European fuel policies to ensure a sustainable transition. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional with strong quantitative skills to join our Trends & Analysis team and help shape resilient, affordable and climate-aligned policies that strengthen energy security and accelerate the shift toward truly sustainable energy sources.
Job Responsibility:
Being a key part of both the Trends & Analysis and Energy & Climate teams, focusing on T&E’s analytical work on transport energy
Analyzing and dissecting data as well as complex policy issues from a variety of sources
Developing briefings and input for advocacy and campaign materials
Support the organization with ad hoc requests and fast technical responses
Converting large data sets or complex policy implications into clear, robust and beautiful charts
Requirements:
Relevant studies or 1-3 years of experience working on technical issues in the environmental or energy sectors
Expertise in and knowledge of energy systems, including biofuels, hydrogen-based fuels or electricity, as well as energy and fuel markets
Strong analytical skills, ability to quickly grasp technical issues, assess data, good knowledge of Excel
Python programming would be an advantage
Project management experience including strong interpersonal and team-working skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills as well as an ability to write in English fluently, accurately and concisely
Other European languages are considered a bonus
The confidence to think and act with initiative, to engage and influence policymakers, industry representatives and other stakeholders
A strong commitment to environmental protection, climate action and T&E’s mission to clean up transport
