UNC Wilmington Dining Services is seeking a dedicated and motivated intern to serve as a Sustainability Ambassador. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for students to engage in a variety of sustainability initiatives and gain hands-on experience in food service sustainability. The selected intern will contribute to key projects focused on local tracking, waste diversion, sustainable sourcing, environmental education, and more, while working with a dynamic team committed to advancing sustainability on campus.
Job Responsibility:
Assist in local sustainability tracking and reporting
Support sustainable procurement efforts for food and materials
Help organize and participate in sustainability events, including Fair Trade, Cool Food, Waste Wise Wednesdays, and other related campus initiatives
Provide general office support, including research and administrative tasks related to sustainability programs
Requirements:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Self-motivated, proactive, and quick to learn
Interest in sustainability, food service practices, and sustainable food systems
Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication skills, with comfort in interacting with diverse groups in various settings (one-on-one and in group environments)
Current enrollment at UNC Wilmington is preferred but not required
