The Sustainability Specialist ensures the integration and implementation of various sustainability strategies from a dynamic, multifunctional perspective. Primary responsibilities are to establish the IKEA brand and IKEA stores as trustworthy and meaningful, with the latter being a natural destination for sustainable home living and to be responsible in stores to ensure that we meet IKEA's commitment to having a positive impact on people and the environment, growing our business and achieving long-term profitability.
Job Responsibility:
Cooperate with the store management team to ensure Sustainability is integrated into the store Action Plan
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective and consistent engagement throughout the local area
Establish and lead processes to facilitate the concrete and effective alignment of the sustainability strategy and its integration into the store's corporate agenda
Communicate internally and externally, the strategy and goals, acting as the company's ambassador on sustainability topics
Make sure that the store Action Plan is implemented and periodically checked through the Sustainability Functional Review and other relevant assessments
Act as reference person for co-workers regarding sustainability related matters, contributing to co-worker training and engagement initiatives
Work in cooperation with our national and local strategic partners and charitable organizations to ensure shared campaigns and initiatives are effectively planned, executed and communicated
Provide sustainability related contents for communication purposes, with special focus on local initiatives
Provide an inspiring and motivating direction for the store colleagues on how, together, we can grow IKEA in a sustainable and socially responsible way
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in the field of communication, Corporate Social Responsibility and a strong interest in sustainability issues
In depth knowledge of how to initiate, plan, execute, control and close a project
Ability to engage a receiver and create passion for your plans
Ability to create a strong network of partners internally and externally to the company
Ability to recognize the link between environmental sustainability and the commercial agenda
Committed to creating a more sustainable way of living
Good level of English
Self-reliant and motivated with proven ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
