Job Description

The University of Salford is looking for a Sustainability Programmes Manager to lead a portfolio of high-impact programmes that will help us deliver our Sustainability Strategy and Net Zero Carbon Plan. You’ll play a central role in embedding sustainability across university life, working on priority areas including responsible procurement, sustainability communications and engagement, and sustainability reporting, benchmarking and performance.

Job Responsibility

  • Developing programme plans, governance, milestones and performance measures
  • Monitoring and reporting progress to senior leaders and university governance groups
  • Leading sustainability data collection, analysis and reporting, including Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions
  • Working with Procurement colleagues to embed social value, environmental criteria and carbon reduction into procurement activity
  • Leading inclusive communications and engagement activity that inspires staff, students and communities to take positive action

Requirements

  • Experience of leading complex programmes or projects
  • Strong knowledge of environmental sustainability
