Job Description:

As our Sustainability Manager, you’ll lead a team of true experts and together with the team drive the sustainability agenda across IKEA Industry. You will not only lead a team with direct reports but also matrix leadership for the sustainability teams across IKEA Industry sites. Your mission is to integrate sustainability and health & safety into everything we do, and inspiring continuous improvement. You’ll work closely with our factories and stakeholders across the IKEA value chain to make sustainability a natural part of our business.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and develop the central sustainability team towards excellence
  • Initiate and drive strategic sustainability initiatives across all IKEA Industry units
  • Secure common standards and ways of working in health & safety and sustainability
  • Act as point of contact for sustainability topics across IKEA organizations
  • Track progress, analyse data, setting and anchoring ambitious goals
  • Represent IKEA Industry in forums and contribute to sustainability reporting

Requirements:

  • Be an experienced leader who inspires, develops, and empowers others
  • Have a strong background in sustainability and health & safety
  • Ability to navigate shop-floor realities and engage with local factory teams
  • Strength in stakeholder management and influencing across functions
  • Bring experience from manufacturing and feel at home in a factory environment
  • Communicate clearly and make complex topics simple
  • Be fluent in business English

Nice to have:

  • Have experience in compliance frameworks and operational excellence
