Job Description

As Sustainability Manager – Carbon, you will take full end-to-end ownership of Westwing’s carbon and climate strategy. You will lead all emissions-related initiatives across the value chain, including accounting, disclosures, supplier engagement and decarbonisation targets. Acting as the single point of accountability for carbon data, methodologies and communication, you will play a key role in enabling data-driven decision-making and positioning Westwing for long-term climate leadership. This position is permanent and based in Munich.

Job Responsibility

  • Execute and manage end-to-end carbon accounting across Scope 1, 2 and 3, including data collection, calculations, methodological updates and continuous improvement
  • Own SBTi target management, including preparation and coordination of target revisions, progress tracking and alignment with Westwing’s long-term net zero ambition
  • Lead supplier carbon engagement for the Westwing Collection, including data requests, plausibility checks and follow-ups to support decarbonisation and reporting requirements
  • Manage external disclosures and frameworks such as CDP, CSRD and ESRS E1, ensuring consistency, audit readiness and delivery of investor- or rating-related requests
  • Translate carbon data into actionable insights for senior management, supporting strategic decisions on sourcing, logistics and product
  • Oversee sustainability-related marketing topics, including green claims substantiation and KPI-aligned customer-facing communication in close collaboration with the Marketing team

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in carbon management, climate reporting or GHG accounting within a multi-country or complex value chain setup
  • Solid understanding of Scope 3 emissions, supplier data challenges and relevant frameworks such as SBTi and CDP
  • Strong data management skills (Excel, BI tools, carbon platforms)
  • experience with Sweep and structured KPI reporting is a strong plus
  • A structured, process-driven mindset and experience working cross-functionally with Finance, Buying, Operations, Tech, suppliers and external partners under tight timelines
  • The ability to support senior management with clear, decision-relevant analysis and communication
  • Strong project management and collaboration skills
