Job Description:

Permanent, full-time role located in Heidelberg. Make a meaningful impact supporting patients, their families and carers. Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across three campuses in the north-east of Melbourne and statewide. The Sustainability and Waste Service Units are within the directorate of Information and Services. We are responsible for providing service and support to Austin Health staff to create a healthier environment for healthier people.

Job Responsibility:

  • Coordinate with the Sustainability and Waste services teams to facilitate frameworks, programs and projects across Austin Health sites
  • Aim to increase staff awareness and participation on sustainability initiatives
  • Develop, support and implement strategies to achieve reduction of environmental impacts such as the reduction of waste to landfill and the greenhouse gases associated

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Environmental Sustainability practices including regulatory reporting and legislative requirements
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills with proven ability in report writing and presentation skills
  • Demonstrate project management skills, with a focus on stake holder engagement, change impacts and risk management
  • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve basic issues or escalate appropriately
  • Teamwork and reliability, with a willingness to adapt to shifting priorities and support colleagues
  • Demonstrate experience in development and delivery of education programs
