Job Description:

As a Sustainability Assistant, you'll work closely with the Sustainability Manager and advisors to help improve the project’s sustainability performance at our Hawthorn Pit site. This includes auditing and measuring sustainability efforts, coordinating activities, and promoting sustainable practices onsite.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist with day-to-day development and implementation of sustainability strategies on a large construction site
  • deliver sustainability and carbon-related toolbox talks / briefings
  • help monitor sustainability performance metrics, including but not limited to carbon emissions, waste generation, and energy consumption
  • support the Sustainability Manager in the preparation of reports for stakeholders
  • gather data related to sustainability initiatives to support decision-making processes
  • collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to promote awareness and participate in sustainability programmes
  • support the Sustainability Manager in developing and delivering training sessions for site personnel on sustainability practices and policies
  • stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in sustainability management relevant to construction
  • carry out weekly sustainability audits
  • support the delivery of project Sustainability Key Performance Indicators.

Requirements:

  • Studying an engineering-related degree such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or an environment-related degree such as Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • self-motivated
  • a driving licence
  • own transport to get to and from site.
