Job Description:

This On-site (NOT remote) position performs duties in support of our surveying team in the processing, drafting, and preparation of survey deliverables. The Survey Technician uses AutoCAD and Civil 3D software to produce accurate drawings, maps, and related documents based on field data collected by survey crews. This position requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Import, review, and process survey field data for drafting and documentation
  • Create and edit detailed survey drawings, maps, and exhibits using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Prepare base maps, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, and construction staking drawings
  • Ensure drawing accuracy, proper layering, and adherence to company CAD standards
  • Maintain project records, coordinate file management, and organize digital survey data
  • Assist with the preparation of legal descriptions, plats, and as-built documentation
  • Review field data and verify correctness of survey points and linework
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and field staff to clarify design intent or data issues
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate’s degree or technical certificate in Drafting, Surveying, or related field preferred
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D software is required
  • Knowledge of survey drafting principles, coordinate geometry (COGO), and data management
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
  • Proactive, professional, and dependable with a strong work ethic
  • Team-oriented attitude with flexibility and willingness to assist others
