Job Responsibility
Assist the Project Manager with daily surveying tasks, both in the field and in the office
Set up and operate instrumentation for collection or layout of survey data (RTK/GPS, robotic total stations, controllers/data collectors, automatic levels)
Advanced knowledge of survey equipment calibration
Operate controllers or data collectors, including control initialization, GPS OPUS techniques, layout techniques (centerline and offset staking), curve staking, intersections, radial stake out, and basic error analysis
Transmit survey data to proper files in the computer network
Send data to office from remote locations using a laptop
Read plans and calculate centerlines, stationing, horizontal and vertical curve data, utility locations, curb & gutter, and curb returns
Perform construction staking activities including slope staking, utility offsets, streets, and commercial lots
Read survey plats and legal descriptions
Locate existing property corners and US Public Land Survey Corners
Operate and maintain survey equipment
Prepare neat written field notes and daily records
Maintain cut sheets for staking projects
Requirements
High School Diploma/GED required
Minimum one year of experience in the surveying industry preferred
Level I Certified Surveyor Technician Certificate preferred
Valid driver's license and able to pass the drug test requirements
