Purpose: Work outdoors using electromagnetic equipment and ground penetrating radar to detect subsurface utilities. Also perform vacuum truck operation; perform utility mark out and surveying activities; and document work with sketches, photos, spreadsheets and/or written reports.
Job Responsibility:
Proficient operation and extensive knowledge of vacuum truck and related equipment such as compressor blower, vacuum hose, air lance, jackhammer, pogo-tamper, concrete saw, hand tools, etc.
Proficient operation and extensive knowledge of multi-frequency electromagnetic equipment including electromagnetic induction (EMI) and ground penetrating radar (GPR).
Perform SUE survey field work.
Prepare daily paperwork.
Train SUE Technicians I and II.
Use and interpret design plans and record drawings.
Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to start and complete projects with limited supervision.
Interact professionally with clients.
Assist with the marketing of the firm's capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing clients.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required. Commensurate relevant experience considered.
Extensive knowledge of all phases of SUE field operations.
Five or more (5+) years as SUE Technician I/II or related experience.
Highly skilled in field operations.
Basic knowledge of land surveying.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
