Purpose: Work outdoors using electromagnetic equipment and ground penetrating radar to detect subsurface utilities. Also perform vacuum truck operation; perform utility mark out and surveying activities; and document work with sketches, photos, spreadsheets and/or written reports.

  • Operate Data Collectors and collect field measurements

  • Train to meet company safety standards
  • Assist in operation of vacuum truck and related equipment such as compressor blower, vacuum hose and air lance, jackhammer, pogo-tamper, concrete saw, hand tools
  • Assist in identification of underground utilities with electromagnetic equipment including electromagnetic induction (EMI) and ground penetrating radar (GPR)
  • Assist in the surveying of all SUE work
  • Assist in implementation of traffic control procedures
  • Drive company vehicles
  • Actively work towards obtaining skills required to advance to SUE Technician II position

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED strongly preferred
  • Commensurate relevant experience considered
  • Entry level position, no prior experience required
  • Ability/willingness to travel for work assignments, including occasional overnight assignments
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and random thereafter
  • Ability to work outside in all seasons and conditions
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
