Job Description

As a summer intern on the Survey team, you will perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you envision your future career. You’ll work for our clients on projects with guidance from our experienced surveyors.

Job Responsibility

  • Perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work
  • Assist with the performance of fieldwork including topographic and boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, and construction staking
  • Travel to job sites at different stages of construction
  • Work in all types of terrain and weather conditions

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in land surveying, construction management, civil engineering technology, or another related field
  • Valid driver's license with good driving history
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team

  • Assist in preparation of all types of survey plats and base maps including title, boundary, topographic, and ALTA surveys
  • Help prepare and check computations for construction stakeout and prepare cut-sheets
  • Prepare corrections for submitted maps, plans, and legal descriptions
  • Perform research for land surveying deliverables
  • Maintain survey related records, notes, maps, and other pertinent documents
  • Monitor progress toward deliverable schedules and report project status
  • Write descriptions of property boundary surveys for use in deeds, leases or other legal documents
  • Assist in equipment maintenance, including robotic total stations, global positioning systems, data collection devices, and point processing software
  • Assist survey crew with various field land surveying activities, including monument reconnaissance, monument preservation, monument resets, construction staking, topographic surveying, etc.
