A busy civil engineering firm located in Camp Hill, PA is seeking a Land Survey CAD Technician to join their team. Duties include: Process field data to prepare survey plans; Perform deed/record research. Job requirements: Minimum 2 years AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation/ORD, and LiDAR Data extraction experience creating topographic and boundary surveys; Ability to read, interpret and draft plans; Experience in processing and interpreting survey data collected in the field; Ability to create and interpret 3D surface models, triangulated irregular networks and contours; Ability to read and interpret property legal descriptions, easements, and rights-of-way. Qualifications: High School Diploma; Two (2) or more years’ experience as a survey CAD technician; Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microstation V8i/ORD; Proficient in LiDAR Data extraction and use; Experience in Microsoft Office applications; Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and attention to detail; Driver’s License (Required). Responsibilities for CAD Survey Technician: Knowledge of surveying practices and principles and the operation of various survey instruments; Assisting in recovery of survey control and monumentation, construction layout, and photo documentation of the project area; Collects and inputs field data into electronic job folders; Interprets deeds, maps, field notes, to ensure proper location of boundaries and/or company facilities; Analyzes electronic data and performs mathematical adjustments; Determines boundary easement location between private and company ownerships; Utilize current CADD standards of the Company and/or Client(s); Utilize CADD software for uploading and downloading data (current drafting medium AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation V8i/ORD, Trimble Business Center or Carlson PointCloud); Perform reductions and corrections that apply for survey control and field data files (raw data reduction, traverse reduction, level run reduction, etc.); Create survey existing conditions plans, including DTM surface creation, and appropriate labeling; Provide feedback of field data to your supervisor and field crew(s); Perform record searches; Plot or assists with deed mosaic creation; Plot and label of road alignments and ROW geometry.
