Job Description:

Baptist Health is looking for an experienced Surgical Technologist to support our Surgical Services Team at our Reid Outpatient OR. This Surgical Technologist position is a full-time days position. As a Surgical Technologist at Reid Outpatient OR - No call, No Holiday, No Weekends are required for this position! In lieu of call, you may be required to stay over in the event of case overruns.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assembling, organizing and maintaining a sterile field for operative procedures
  • Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and progression of the case and prepare accordingly
  • Proper disposition of specimens and instruments
  • Works with entire surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety
  • Performs in first assist role in a variety of surgical procedures
  • Functions as a support to related departments within Surgical Services as needed
  • No call, no weekends, no holidays

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an Accredited Surgical Technologist CAAHEP or ABHES Program
  • OR - Previous experience working in an Operating Room (OR) setting
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from an accredited program preferred NBSTA or NCCT, but not required
  • Associate's Degree
  • 1-2 years Surgical Services Experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
  • Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) NCCT Required Or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Required
