Job Responsibility:

  • Function as a member of the surgical team who promotes safe patient care
  • Prepares for surgical procedures and manages the sterile field
  • Assists the surgeon by passing instruments/equipment and anticipating needs during surgical procedures
  • Understands and satisfies the supply, instrumentation and equipment needs from neonatal to adult patients
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge and proficient practice in the first scrub role for most surgical procedures
  • Assists with orientation of new personnel in the surgical technologist role

Requirements:

  • Completion of a surgical technologist program
  • 2 years of surgical technologist experience
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Must report to the hospital within 30 mins for call
  • Surgical Technologist Certification preferred
