Function as a member of the surgical team who promotes safe patient care, prepares for surgical procedures and manages the sterile field, assists the surgeon by passing instruments/equipment and anticipating needs during surgical procedures. Understands and satisfies the supply, instrumentation and equipment needs from neonatal to adult patients. Demonstrates advanced knowledge and proficient practice in the first scrub role for most surgical procedures. Assists with orientation of new personnel in the surgical technologist role.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist with orientation of new personnel in the surgical technologist role

Requirements:

  • Completion of a surgical technologist program
  • Two years of surgical technologist experience (minimum of 1 year in pediatrics)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required
  • Candidates must be available full time days to orientate for the first 6 months
  • Hours: Every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday) and 1 day per week
  • 7am-5pm or 9am-7pm depending on department needs
  • This position also includes holiday rotation call requirement with a 30 min response rate

Nice to have:
