Demonstrates advanced knowledge and proficient practice in the first scrub role for most surgical procedures. Assists with orientation of new personnel in the surgical technologist role.
Job Responsibility:
Help prepare patients and operating rooms for surgery
Serve as an extra set of hands during surgical procedures
Function as a member of the surgical team who promotes safe patient care
Prepare for surgical procedures and manage the sterile field
Assist the surgeon by passing instruments/equipment and anticipating needs during surgical procedures
Understand and satisfy the supply, instrumentation and equipment needs from neonatal to adult patients
Demonstrate advanced knowledge and proficient practice in the first scrub role for most surgical procedures
Assist with orientation of new personnel in the surgical technologist role
Requirements:
Completion of a surgical technologist program
Two years of surgical technologist experience (minimum of 1 year in pediatrics)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required
Candidates must be available full time days to orientate for the first 6 months
Hours: Every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday) and 1 day per week
7am-5pm or 9am-7pm depending on department needs
This position also includes holiday rotation call requirement with a 30 min response rate
