Basic computer skills
High School graduate or GED
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association
Colorado Surgical Assistant License or Surgical Technician upon hire unless performing Surgical Assistant duties within the scope of another active Colorado license, certification, or registration (required for Colorado employed staff only)
One-year patient care experience preferred, i.e. OB Tech, LPN/LVN, EMT, CNA, Medical Assistant or Surgical Tech experience preferred
Scrub Tech Certification preferred
Completion of a Surgical Tech program, preferred

Job Responsibility

Assist in smooth daily operations of the Labor & Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum unit
May perform direct and indirect patient care including vitals, hygiene measures, and basic care for antepartum, postpartum and newborn patients
Assists with vaginal deliveries under the direction of a Registered Nurse and provider and within scope of practice
Functions as a Scrub Tech for surgical procedures
Maintains supplies and equipment on the unit
Assists with maintenance of Point of Care Testing and High Level Disinfection equipment
Performs clerical and business support tasks as assigned
Assumes personal accountability for organizational mission and core values

Assist surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed
Assist in preparing and moving patients and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms
Scrub on all cases
Gen, Ortho (trauma) Neuro, Spine, Eyes, ENT, GU, Robotics (DaVinci XI/SI), Vascular, Endovascular, Cardiac, Trauma OB/GYN
Specialized teams for Cardiac, and Neuro only. Associates are cross trained for all other services
Giving breaks and/or providing additional supplies and sterile instruments as needed during operations
Assisting with Room turnover and restocking for next day’s cases
Maintain Sterile field during procedures
Handing instruments to surgeons, anticipating surgeon’s needs

Additional $10/hr weekend option differential applies for Saturday and Sunday shifts
