Surgical Tech

• In combination with a surgical nurse, performs a wide range of duties utilizing specialized knowledge acquired through formal training
• Supports surgical areas
• Verification of specialty equipment and inventory
• Contacting surgeons concerning equipment and supply needs for complex cases
• Communicating with related buyers and vendors and other staff concerning their service
• Contacting surgical supply companies and their vendors about malfunctioning or broken equipment
• Providing education/training to new staff
• Support Same Day Surgery Operating Rooms, Main Operating Room, Night Call, Wknds and Holidays in conjunction will all other surgical techs in unit

• Completion of Accredited Surgical Technologist institution or specialized program
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date
• A minimum of one (1) year of Surgical Technician experience
• Proven knowledge of maintaining a therapeutic environment for patients undergoing surgical procedures
• Demonstrated knowledge of surgical instrumentation used in various surgical procedures
• Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
• Minimum 1 work-shift per week
• Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs
• Must float to Main OR and take call as needed
• Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
• Two (2) years of Surgical Technician scrub experience including Robot, Sports Med, Urology, Total Joints, and Complex GYN
• Outpatient experience
