Job Description:

Help prepare the operating room and surgical team so they can successfully perform a variety of surgical procedures for patients. Adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient's healing process.

Job Responsibility:

  • Set up surgical equipment and instruments
  • Assist the surgical team
  • Ensure a sterile environment
  • Demonstrate intermediate or advanced skills in operating room technology and proficient knowledge of surgical procedures
  • Consistently demonstrate the principles of aseptic technique
  • Handle blood and tissue specimens accurately and in a timely manner
  • Consistently demonstrate proper care and handling of instruments and equipment
  • Facilitate movement of surgery schedule through timely room turnover, communicating with appropriate persons for case progress and delays

Requirements:

  • Completion of a Surgical Technologist Training course
  • 1-3 years Less than two (2) years recent hospital experience in the capacity of a Surgical Technologist and certification as a Surgical Technologist
  • Certified Surgical Technologist
  • Technologist in Surgery-Certified
  • Basic Life Support - CPR
