Job Description

As a Surgical Neuro Trauma ICU Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide direct nursing care to neurology, neurosurgical, Level I trauma, and general surgery patients in this 32-bed Intensive Care Unit. You will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery. Every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans. You'll collaborate seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team, contributing to a dynamic environment focused on optimal patient outcomes.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide direct nursing care to neurology, neurosurgical, Level I trauma, and general surgery patients in this 32-bed Intensive Care Unit
  • Provide comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes for the patient
  • Organize and prioritize patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient
  • Document the nursing care plan and incorporate the nursing process following the standard of care for patient care area
  • Document changes in patient condition and response to interventions within established timeframes
  • Demonstrate accountability for own ethical behavior
  • Serve as an advocate for patients needs by demonstrating holistic care practices
  • Demonstrate the ability to recognize and adapt to changes in patients condition
  • Utilize SBAR format tool to notify physicians, and other providers of clinical findings, performs nurse-to-nurse report at the bedside

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Registered Nurse (RN): AZ or Compact license
  • One (1) year Registered Nurse (RN) experience
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Diploma, or foreign equivalent
  • American Heart Association
  • Basic Life Support
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months of hire or transfer

Nice to have

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN)
  • One (1) year Registered Nurse (RN) experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
