Surface Mount Production Technologist

• Operate and maintain all Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment (screen printer, pick/place machine, reflow oven, Automated Optical Inspection, and X-Ray), including daily setup, shutdown, and changeovers
• Load materials (feeders, solder paste, stencils, components) based on Bills of Materials (BoMs) and align machines for correct component placement on Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assemblies
• Monitor line performance, diagnose and resolve SMT machine errors, and perform routine preventive maintenance
• Conduct visual and automated inspection to identify defects and ensure compliance with industry quality standards (IPC)
• Manage material handling, control nonconforming products, track component inventory, and maintain production logs
• Ensure safety and compliance, following Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection procedures and adherence to workplace organization (5S) principles

• B. Diploma or degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Engineering Technology, or a related field
• 1-3 years' experience in an SMT or PCB assembly environment is preferred
• Deep understanding of SMT/PCB assembly
• Proficient in soldering, reflow profiling, and specific electronics manufacturing quality standards (IPC-610)
• Ability to read board layouts, Gerber files, and assembly drawings
• Knowledge of production techniques, standards, quality control principles, and proficient computer skills
• Must have a valid passport and authorization to travel
• Strong attention to detail, commitment to high standards of workmanship, and strong interpersonal skills

IPC certification is an asset
