The Supv, Shift Production will manage a shift of experienced operators, ensuring efficient operation, safety, and regulatory compliance. Troubleshoot processes and equipment, enforce company policies, and handle emergencies. Promote safety and maintain high employee morale. You will report to the Production Superintendent and work rotating shifts onsite with your team. This is a safety sensitive position.
Job Responsibility:
Safety Leadership: Familiarize with and model company safety practices, ensuring jobs are performed safely and correctly. Promote a “Do It Right” atmosphere
Operational Monitoring: Oversee operating activities, data, lab reports, and logs. Guide operators on plant equipment
Compliance: Ensure all operators are familiar with OSHA 1910 requirements, including Process Safety Management, Management of Change, Operator Training, Certification, and Standard Operating Procedures
Work Orders and Permits: Initiate work orders and issue safe work, hot work, and vessel entry permits, following lockout/tagout procedures
Continuous Learning: Promote continuous learning and ensure operator training and progression programs are effective. Evaluate and recommend operators for level certifications
Staffing: Maintain staffing and prepare for retirements and attrition
Administration: Handle timekeeping, policy administration, employee discipline, scheduling, and safety training for the shift
Employee Morale: Foster high employee morale and performance
Facility Stewardship: Promote good housekeeping and help identify equipment and infrastructure needs
Shift Work: Work 12-hour rotating shifts and be available for callouts during plant upsets/shutdowns
Supervision: Directly supervise shift operators and conduct annual performance evaluations
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
AA or BS degree in a related area (preferred)
7+ years’ experience in operations/manufacturing of Ammonia
