At Real Life Options, our Support Workers are at the heart of everything we do—delivering person-centred, flexible, and responsive care to adults with learning disabilities across West Lothian. Whether supporting someone at home or out in the community, you’ll be helping them live life on their terms.
Job Responsibility:
Provide a person-centred approach in providing quality support
Support people to identify and work towards meaningful outcomes, to participate in their community and develop new and maintain existing relationships
Offering care and support to one adult with learning disabilities to ensure the running of their home, health and wellbeing
Include personal care, medication administration, housework, shopping, cooking and most importantly maintaining and developing each person’s independent skills
Provide social support daily and weekly to ensure involvement and independence within their community
Follow support plans and risk assessments
Liaise with medical professionals when required
May be asked to work between other services that we provide care and support to across West Lothian
Requirements:
Demonstrable track record of working with people with learning disabilities in a supported living and enabling environment
Commitment to the principles of community care
Understanding of development needs of adults with a learning disability (social, personal, physical, occupational and leisure)
Understanding of the needs of people with disabilities, including learning disabilities, multiple disabilities and complex needs
An enhanced Adult PVG will be required for this role
