We are currently recruiting four Support Workers to join our brand new Service in Northampton. Ray House provides accommodation, support and advice to adults experiencing homelessness with a history of rough sleeping. The service helps individuals build stability, improve wellbeing and move towards independent living through accommodation-based support and access to specialist services.
Job Responsibility:
Supporting individuals to build confidence, develop independence and move towards a more stable future
Helping people address the challenges that may have contributed to homelessness, improve their wellbeing, and develop the skills needed to sustain accommodation
Building positive relationships and providing practical day-to-day support
Empowering individuals to achieve their goals, access appropriate services, and make meaningful progress towards independent living
Requirements:
Experience of supporting vulnerable adults or young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, including those experiencing mental health issues, substance misuse or offending behaviour
The ability to work flexibly across shifts, weekends and bank holidays
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
Experience of maintaining accurate records and updating support information
An understanding of the causes of homelessness and the challenges people may face when moving towards settled accommodation
Awareness of housing and welfare benefits systems
Ability to research and access information about local community resources
Knowledge of strengths-based or trauma-informed approaches to support
