Job Description:
Discover Your New Support Worker Role – Newcastle Region. Location: Cooks Hill, Mayfield, New Lambton, Kotara, Adamstown, Charlestown & Redhead. Shifts: Monday to Friday (must be available Wednesdays & Fridays). Weekend Availability: Preferred but not essential. Availability Window: 8:00am – 6:00pm. Roster: Shifts vary based on client needs, with some later starts throughout the week. Contract: 50-hour contract. Hourly Rate: $34.59 per hour + 12% superannuation + salary packaging benefits. What Your Day Will Look Like: Domestic Assistance - Support clients with light cleaning and help maintain a safe, comfortable, and tidy home environment. Personal Care - Support with showering, dressing, and grooming so clients feel their best. Transport - Assist clients to attend appointments, run errands, or complete grocery shopping—helping them stay connected and independent. Meal Preparation - Prepare simple meals or batch cook to make daily living easier and more enjoyable. Medication Support - Help maintain routines and ensure medications are taken on time. Meaningful Moments - Build trusted relationships and bring companionship, confidence, and positivity into your clients’ day. What It’s Really Like to Work With Us: No two days are ever the same. One morning might begin supporting a client with their personal care routine before heading across Newcastle suburbs for grocery shopping or transport to appointments. Another shift could involve helping someone prepare meals, tidy their home, and simply enjoy meaningful company and conversation. You’ll travel throughout areas including Cooks Hill, Mayfield, Kotara, Charlestown, and Redhead, supporting clients to remain independent and comfortable in their own homes. This role is flexible, rewarding, and full of genuine human connection—where even a short visit can completely brighten someone’s day. What You’ll Bring: A genuine passion for supporting older people and making a difference. Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care or equivalent). Female support worker required due to client preferences. Current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle. Willingness to obtain comprehensive car insurance, WWCC, and First Aid/CPR. Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or National Police Check (or willingness to obtain). Confidence using smartphones and digital systems.
