Job Description:

This is a brand-new service for Cartrefi so you’ll be joining us at an exciting time to really help us shape this new caring support service. As a Support Worker in Llanddona you’ll help make the everyday remarkable for the people we support. We are dedicated to supporting those with learning disabilities to live a fulfilled and enriched life in the community, as a Support Worker, you can play a vital role in this.

Job Responsibility:

  • Actively support 1 male (ratio will be 2:1) with challenging behaviour, in making his own choices and setting his own goals
  • empower him through on these choices, including taking part in structured activities that build confidence and develop new skills
  • offer practical support to help him to meet responsibilities like paying bills, maintaining his home, being good neighbours, and staying connected with friends and family
  • personal care is involved in this role

Requirements:

  • No experience required as full training is provided
  • have patience and empathy
  • can support a person with their intimate personal care with respect and dignity
  • have strong communication and teamwork skills
  • are able to speak on behalf of others as well as to a range of professional people
  • have good written skills and the ability to record events with empathy and meaning
  • have a full driving licence - essential for transporting individuals to appointments and activities
  • have access to your own car and happy to use this for transporting people we support to and from activities as well as obtaining business insurance for your vehicle
