We have a rewarding opportunity for compassionate and dedicated personal Support Worker to assist an individual living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in Plymouth. This role is focused on providing support in his day-to-day life, helping him maintain a sense of independence while ensuring they can continue to care for their children and engage in family life. As part of this, the support extends outside the home engaging in fun family activities such as soft play, parks and visiting the cinema.
Job Responsibility:
Providing high-quality care on a 2:1 basis
Engaging with the individual in meaningful activities
Taking them out in the community to promote social interaction and well-being
Supporting with household tasks
Clear and confident communication in their preferred manner
Assisting in maintaining a stable family life
Providing support to be an active and present father
Requirements:
Compassionate and dedicated
Previous experience with complex care ideally MND, tracheostomy management, ventilation and PEG
Provide assistance with communication via an eye-gaze computer system
Patience and understanding of MND and its effects on communication and mobility
FULL UK Driving Licence
Local to Plymouth and know the area
Kind, patient, and dedicated to supporting someone with complex needs
