Job Description:

Come join us to support this young person to live more independently! We have an exciting opportunity for someone to work supporting a child, he likes to be on his iPad and communicates with hand signs and eye signals, they live with their family in the New Malden area. The family do have a friendly large breed dog, so you will need to be comfortable around dogs. The young person does have complex needs as a result of a brain injury and spinal muscular atrophy. Their needs include requiring tracheostomy and ventilation to breathe, PEG tube for nutrition, and is a wheelchair user.

Job Responsibility:

Providing high-quality care on a 2:1 basis
Engaging with them in meaningful activities
Taking them out in the community to promote their social interaction and well-being
Supporting with household tasks to maintain a clean and organized living environment
Clear and confident communication in their preferred manner

Requirements:

Local to New Malden and know the area
Previous experience with PEG Feeding - Desirable
Previous experience with Non-speaking care - Desirable
Previous experience with Ventilation and Tracheostomy Experience - Desirable

Nice to have:

PEG Feeding - Desirable
Non-speaking care - Desirable
Ventilation and Tracheostomy Experience - Desirable
