Job Description:

Working within our SIL (Supported Independent Living) homes, in Hervey Bay you will provide support, assisting people with disabilities to live as independently as possible, whether they have complex needs or just need some additional support at home. No two days will be the same.

Job Responsibility:

  • Helping people to achieve their NDIS goals by developing important daily skills such as housekeeping, personal care, social skills and budgeting
  • Assisting with aspects of personal care where required to meet the individual needs of the people we support
  • Supporting with meal planning, cooking, light cleaning and facilitating community connection by socialising and going on outings
  • Providing support during daily activities such as going for a walk, going to the movies or accompanying to an appointment
  • Helping the people we support to maintain a connection to their family, friends, and services

Requirements:

  • Experience with personal care and manual handling
  • Comfortable delivering a high-level of care
  • Experience with challenging behaviours is an advantage
  • Ability to support participants and contribute to a 7 day a week roster
  • Flexibility for potential sleepovers depending on client needs
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous
  • Flexibility to work a variety of times, including short shifts
  • Good computer skills and experience using Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
  • Hold or willing to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card)
  • First Aid, CPR, National Criminal History Check (Fit2Work)
  • An open Driver's License with comprehensive insurance on your vehicle

Nice to have:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
  • Experience with challenging behaviours
