We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team in Upper Sydenham, Lewisham. Job Responsibility:
Provide personalised care and support to individuals with varying needs, including physical disabilities, mental health challenges, and learning difficulties
Assist service users with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration, and mobility
Encourage and promote independence and social inclusion by supporting service users to access community resources and engage in meaningful activities
Maintain accurate and confidential records of care and progress in line with organisational policies and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to ensure a holistic approach to care
Follow health and safety procedures to maintain a safe environment for service users and colleagues
Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
Requirements:
Previous experience in a support worker role or similar within health, nursing, social care, or charity sectors is desirable
An empathetic, patient, and respectful approach to supporting vulnerable individuals
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships
Flexible and adaptable to meet the varying needs of service users
Basic literacy and numeracy skills
willingness to undertake formal qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care is an advantage
Understanding of safeguarding principles and commitment to promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Enhanced DBS check clearance (or willingness to undergo one)
