As a Disability Support Worker, working within our Supported Independent Living homes, you’ll provide person-centred support that empowers people with disability to build independence, confidence and connection. No two days are the same — one day you might be supporting someone to learn new life skills, the next helping them get out into the community or achieve a personal goal. You’ll be part of a supportive team that genuinely cares about the people we support — and about each other.
Job Responsibility:
Supporting people with daily living activities, personal care and routines
Assisting clients with manual handling using hoists and slings
Encouraging independence, choice and inclusion
Supporting community access, social activities and wellbeing
Building trusted relationships with clients, families and colleagues
Maintaining safe, respectful and positive environments
Requirements:
A caring, patient and respectful approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Reliability and a positive, can-do attitude
Availability to work a range of shifts (including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and sleepovers – penalty rates apply)
The capacity to meet the physical requirements as manual handling tasks are involved
A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous but not required
Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card)
First Aid & CPR Certification
National Criminal History Check (Police Check)
Australian open Driver’s License with comprehensive insurance on your vehicle
