Job Description:

As a Support Worker in Builth Wells, you’ll help make the everyday remarkable for the people we support. We are dedicated to supporting those with learning disabilities to live a fulfilled and enriched life in the community. You'll be supporting people across four supported living services in the beautiful area of Builth Wells—three right in the town and one in the nearby village of Aberedw. Each person you support has their own unique routines and preferences. This is a truly rewarding and often fun role for someone who wants to make a real difference in everyday life.

Job Responsibility:

  • supporting people across four supported living services
  • helping them shape their daily lives, from small choices to big decisions
  • supporting individuals to do the things they love
  • helping people with daily tasks like cooking, cleaning, and paying bills
  • encouraging them to try new things, build confidence, and live as independently as possible
  • providing practical, respectful, and tailored support
  • delivering personal care with dignity and kindness where involved
  • manual handling
  • positive behaviour management
  • transporting individuals to appointments and activities

Requirements:

  • have patience and empathy
  • can support a person with their intimate personal care with respect and dignity
  • have strong communication and teamwork skills
  • are able to speak on behalf of others as well as to a range of professional people
  • have good written skills and the ability to record events with empathy and meaning
  • have a full driving licence -essential for transporting individuals to appointments and activities
  • have access to your own car and happy to use this for transporting people we support to and from activities as well as obtaining business insurance for your vehicle
