Job Description:

Nexus-Support is a specialist provider working alongside people with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Complex Needs aged between 16 and 45, and their families in the South Essex area. Covering – Basildon, Castle Point, Chelmsford, Southend. Days are spent supporting people to live a life meaningful to them. We provide opportunities to grow, develop new skills and to explore and enjoy new and established interests and experiences. This may include activities such as swimming, exercising, Health & Beauty and any preferred activities that individuals may wish to participate in within community settings and within their own homes.

Job Responsibility:

  • Build positive relationships with people by listening, discussing, and planning goals and ambitions together
  • Help plan daily tasks and assist with practical activities such as cooking, cleaning and running errands
  • Assist with personal care, which may include support with eating and administering medication
  • Help plan and participate in any exciting days out they wish to enjoy
  • Make a positive impact on someone’s life by supporting them to become more independent
  • Support people to live a life meaningful to them
  • Provide opportunities to grow, develop new skills and to explore and enjoy new and established interests and experiences
  • Be on hand for chats and advice to help when times become challenging

Requirements:

  • A full UK drivers licence
  • A caring attitude with a passion for supporting others
  • A team player able to work effectively with other colleagues
  • Resilience and confidence to ask for support
  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • Availability to work a minimum of two shifts per week
  • Ability to work shift patterns including earlies, lates, sleep in and alternate weekends
