Due to continued growth in our services, Community Care Trust Aotearoa is recruiting Support Workers to join our RIDSAS Service (Regional Intellectual Disability Supported Accommodation Service) and Supported Living Services in Dunedin. Our services operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and weekend availability is essential for these roles. Our approach is person-centred and strengths-based, recognising that behaviour is a form of communication and responding with compassion, patience and trauma-informed practice. We are looking for people who are calm, resilient, non-judgemental and solutions-focused, with a genuine interest in supporting others to build confidence, independence and positive life outcomes.
Job Responsibility:
Build meaningful relationships and support people to develop life skills, achieve their goals, and connect with their communities
Provide specialist rehabilitation support for people with intellectual disabilities who have high and complex needs and who have had contact with the judicial system
Support people to live as independently as possible in their communities
Requirements:
A full, current New Zealand driver licence
Eligibility to work in New Zealand
A current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to complete one at our cost
Willingness to undergo vetting as part of our safeguarding commitment
Availability to work weekend shifts
Experience in disability, mental health, justice, or community support is an advantage, but not essential
