Job Description:

Webster Court provides supported living exclusively for over-50's with enduring mental health challenges and multiple needs. Many residents have experienced homelessness, vulnerable housing, or struggle to live independently. The role involves shift work plus sleep-ins (£43.12) on rota basis. St Martins uses Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) framework and is a Real Living Wage employer.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supporting residents with medication
  • Taking part in group social activities
  • Meeting with health or social care professionals
  • Supporting residents to remain independent with daily living tasks
  • Practical tasks like preparing meals with residents
  • Encouraging residents to keep flats tidy
  • Making own decisions in supporting residents
  • Ensuring resident safety
  • Supporting residents to maintain mental and physical wellbeing
  • Working as team to deliver person-centred, high-quality service

Requirements:

  • Awareness of Trauma Informed Care and ability to work with a Psychologically Informed approach
  • Emotional resilience with ability to remain calm in challenging situations
  • Experience supporting people with poor mental health, dual diagnosis or unconventional lives
  • Experience providing high standard of care and support following digital support plans in domiciliary, supported living or residential care environment
  • Observing and respecting resident’s dignity, privacy and independence in a regulated Care Quality Commission service
  • Ability and willingness to be flexible and work unsociable hours, including evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays and sleeping nights on rota basis
