An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Support Worker position within our Older People's acute services to support our service users with all aspects of their care including activities and personal care.
Job Responsibility
To provide support, give time to service users within the unit and the community and thus promote recovery
To provide holistic care, taking into account psychosocial and physical healthcare needs of the service user group
To assist Care Co-ordinator or key worker and service user to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual care plans and undertake other assessments as required
Requirements
Experience of working with people with Mental Health problems
An interest in and commitment to on-going personal/professional development
Basic IT knowledge
Ability to respond to the individual rights/needs/opinions of service users
Ability to maintain a safe environment for service users/carers/staff
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Flexibility required to meet service needs
Team Worker
Positive attitude to change
Access to transport
NVQ Level III or Certificate in Community Mental Health, or a willingness to undertake this, or an equivalent level of experience
Nice to have
A basic knowledge/understanding of the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act
