At Real Life Options, we provide person-centred support that empowers people to live life on their own terms. This role is based in supported accommodation, where you’ll be providing one-to-one support for an adult with autism, a learning disability, and communication difficulties. The individual is non-verbal, uses Makaton, and may display some challenging behaviour. You’ll play a vital role in helping them lead a fulfilling life, from assisting with daily routines to supporting their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing. Job Responsibility:
Provide personal care, including support with bathing, dressing, and toilet assistance
Administer medication safely and accurately
Prepare meals of the person’s choice and support with eating where required
Support with household tasks, cleaning, laundry, and organising repairs
Support and encourage involvement in community activities and daily routines
Build trusting relationships with the person, their family, and external professionals
Accompany and support the person to attend healthcare and other appointments
Maintain clear and accurate written records of support provided
Follow and contribute to individualised support plans and risk assessments
Work confidently as part of a team and independently during lone working shifts
Participate in sleepover shifts as part of a 24-hour rota
