Job Description:

A well-established homelessness support service based in Coventry is seeking compassionate and reliable Support Workers to join its frontline drop-in team. The service supports people who are rough sleeping or at risk of homelessness, providing immediate practical support and access to longer-term accommodation and specialist services.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide a welcoming, non-judgemental drop-in service
  • Offer hot drinks, food, and clothing to people who are rough sleeping
  • Support individuals with housing advice and referrals to supported accommodation
  • Work closely with partner agencies including mental health, substance misuse, outreach, and policing services
  • Assist with benefits, form filling, and access to IT
  • Maintain clear and accurate records
  • Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and professional boundaries at all times

Requirements:

  • Experience working with homelessness, housing, or vulnerable adults is desirable
  • Able to work calmly and confidently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Empathetic, resilient, and solution-focused
  • Comfortable supporting people facing complex challenges, including mental ill-health or substance misuse
